Celebration of Life & Funeral Services

There is a quiet honour in being invited into the sacred moments of saying goodbye.

As a Life Celebrant, I am devoted to creating ceremonies that honour each life with meaning, dignity, presence, and care.

For over 20 years, I have supported individuals and groups through personal growth, ceremony, ritual, reflection, and meaningful life transitions. Becoming a Celebrant felt like a natural next step, especially in supporting families through loss, remembrance, and honouring the lives of those they love.

​

I am also currently studying with OneSpirit Interfaith Seminary, working toward ordination as an Interfaith Minister. This path continues to deepen my understanding of ceremony, spirituality, grief, sacred listening, and the many different ways we make meaning of life and death.

My Approach & Beliefs

I believe death is a sacred threshold and that our relationship with those we love does not simply end when they die.

​

For me, there is mystery in what comes next. I believe that love continues, that connection can take new forms, and that those we have loved become woven into who we are - through memory, story, tradition, the natural world, and those quiet moments when we simply feel them near.

​

At the same time, your ceremony does not need to reflect my beliefs. It needs to reflect yours. I warmly welcome families of all faiths, spiritual paths, cultures, traditions, and those who hold no particular religious or spiritual belief at all. A ceremony may include prayer, scripture, poetry, spiritual ritual, ancestral traditions, music, storytelling, moments of silence,  or none of these. There is no single right way to say goodbye.

My role is to listen deeply and help create something that feels true to the person you love and to the people gathering to remember them.

​

Every service is thoughtfully created in collaboration with family and loved ones, reflecting the unique story, personality, values, beliefs, and spirit of the person being celebrated. Together, we create a ceremony that offers space for storytelling, reflection, laughter, tears, connection, and love.

Why Ceremony Matters

More and more often, people say, “Don’t make a fuss over me,” or “I don’t need a funeral.”

​

And while those wishes often come from humility, love, or simply not wanting to burden others, ceremonies are not only for the person who has died. They are also for those who remain.

​

Ceremony gives us permission to pause. To gather. To witness a life. To speak the stories. To remember the moments that mattered. To laugh, cry, honour, and begin making sense of a world that suddenly feels changed.

​

There is something deeply healing about coming together in community and saying:

This life mattered.
This person mattered.
This love mattered.

​

A Celebration of Life can offer a gentle container for grief. It gives us somewhere to place our stories, our memories, our sorrow, our gratitude, and our love.

​

And while a chapter has ended, connection does not necessarily disappear. Something else begins - a different kind of relationship. One where we carry those we love in our hearts, in our breath, in traditions and memories, in favourite songs and familiar places, and in the small, meaningful moments when we continue to feel their presence in our lives.

Endings hold so much love.

​
